Hyundai and its luxury brand Genesis have issued a major recall 298-032G affecting more than 294,100 vehicles due to a defect involving the front seat belt anchor system. According to NHTSA Report No. 26V218, the front seat belt(s) in the subject vehicles may not be sufficiently attached to the seat frame due to a damaged snap-on anchor. An insufficiently attached seatbelt anchor can increase the risk of injury to occupants during a crash.

  • 2024–2026 Hyundai Santa Fe
  • 2024–2026 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

Manufacturer’s Remedy

Hyundai and Genesis dealers will:

  • Inspect seat belt anchor assemblies
  • Reinforce or replace affected components
  • Verify proper seat belt operation

Why This Recall Matters
