Joyco issues a recall on a number of its 2023 vehicles. Jayco RV has a rich history that spans over five decades, making it one of the leading recreational vehicle manufacturers in the world. Founded in 1968 by Lloyd Bontrager, the company has established reputation as one of the top RV manufacturers in the nation. Jayco has grown into a global brand, offering a wide range of motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers.  Yet, Jayco’s long history and place in the industry does not mean that it always produces flawless products.

In fact, Jayco has decided to recall a number of its 2023 Jayco Swift, Swift LI, Entegra Ethos and Ethos LI recreational vehicles because the solar panel may detach from the Pop-Up roof.  The issue can result in a serious road hazard and possible safety issue. Jayco intends to notify owners by mail around July 17, 2023 and will invlolve the following vehicles:

·       2023 Entegra Ethos
·       2023 Entegra Ethos LI
·       2023 Jayco Swift
·       2023 Jayco Swift LI

The latest recall comes after Jayco announced that it was recalling certain 2023-2024 Entegra Emblem, Vision, Vision XL, Jayco Alante, Precept, and Precept Prestige motorhomes, built on Ford F-53 chassis. The issue in that Recall, identified as NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V318000, was that the rear brake caliper attachment bolts may not have been tightened properly.

Recalls can be an indication that an underlying issue exists with the vehicle and the manufacturer has knowledge of that defect.  Under the California Lemon Law, if the manufacturer cannot repair your vehicle under warranty after repeated attempts, you may be entitled to compensation. You can read MMO Law’s post pertaining to automotive recalls by clicking here.  Moreover, there are specific provisions of the Lemon Law that apply to Recreational Vehicles like the ones identified in the recalls above.
