In the first 3 months of 2023, Ford Motor Company has already issued two separate recalls for the 2023 Ford Bronco. Generally, a recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle or its equipment creates an unreasonable safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards.
In February, Recall No. 23V070000 was issued pertaining to powertrain issues in the automatic transmissions of the Ford Bronco. Specifically, Ford’s recall details that the transmission may contain a loose bolt. As a result, 2022 and 2023 Ford Bronco owners may find that their vehicles do not properly engage the park gear even though he gear shifter position may indicate the Ford Bronco is in park. Recall No. 23V070000 also applies to the 2022-2023 F-150, Mustang, Explorer, and 2023 Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. According to a report in Cars.com, the inability to secure the vehicle in the park position can result in a rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. It should be noted that Ford’s number for this recall is 23S06.
Additionally, in March of 2023, Ford also issued Recall No. 23V155000 that applies to 2023 Bronco Wildtrak vehicles and 2022 Bronco Raptor vehicles. This recall applies to the steering components of the applicable vehicles and outlines that the steering gear may lock-up or result in a loss of steering control. It goes without saying that a loss of steering control can also increase the risk of a car accident and potential injury. Drivers may also know this recall as Ford Recall No. 23S09.
Recalls can be an indication that an underlying issue exists with the vehicle and the manufacturer has knowledge of that defect. Under the California Lemon Law, if the manufacturer cannot repair your vehicle under warranty after repeated attempts, you may be entitled to compensation.
